If you visit Asahiyama Zoo in winter, this is definitely a must-see event. You can observe them from a very close distance! The penguin walk is usually held twice a day during the snow season (late December to mid-March) at 11:00 and 14:30 (only once in the morning in March).

In winter, the zoo has a cool penguin parade where you can see these cute penguins walk past you up close. However, in summer you can still see how cute they are at close range.
