This set of Rangoli pattern templates are a perfect addition to your lessons on Diwali. They're perfect for teaching about this beautiful art form, and having lots of fun colouring!
Children get to learn all about these intricate patterns and the history behind them while making one of their own. They're ideal for making a display stand out, or as a keepsake to take home and show off.
Using our Rangoli patterns, you can help your KS2 students refine their motor skills as they work to colour within the lines. Colouring is great for developing the muscles in the fingers, hands and wrists.
These Rangoli Pattern templates are perfect to occupy your child at home. Colouring is a quiet and relaxing activity, great for developing your child's motor skills.
If you want to develop their skills further, a great place to start is our Rangoli Design Pattern. Taking what they're learning and applying their creativity even further will be great fun and produce something quite beautiful. You could also take a look at these Rangoli Pictures for inspiration.
Equally, if you need to expand their knowledge on Diwali, why not start with our fantastic PowerPoint? This Diwali Craft Activity is another example of a creative Diwali activity that can make a great addition to your lesson.
Students will also enjoy our flextangles activity pack for some patterned papercraft.Throughout Diwali, Hindus draw bright Rangoli patterns on the floor, near the front door to encourage the goddess Lakshmi to go into their homes. The name even comes from 'rangavalli' which means colour!
They are usually drawn using rice grains, flour, sand or chalk.
Rangoli drawings are often taken from nature; swans, peacocks, mango or flowers are popular.
