"Beautiful" Sung by Christina Aguilera: Creating a Positive Class Atmosphere

This song which is sung by Christina Aguilera has been around for several years but its lesson is still powerful. The lesson it contains on positive self esteem and accepting others as they are is a good lesson to teach the first few weeks of school. It lets students know that you expect them to be kind and civil to everyone and to you, and that’s how you will treat them.
There are several assignments that go along with the song. You can choose to do one or two or all of them, of course. There are five short writing assignments plus two assignments that combine art and writing. The fourth writing assignment is very much like the second art assignment. I also included a page the combines all five of the writing assignments but the students only write on two of them. I would always have the song playing as they walk into the classroom on the day(s) you are doing one of the assignments. The lyrics to the song are in this product as well.
