Power for this miniature masterpiece is derived from a smooth-running stock 1275cc four cylinder engine that appears to be completely original. Despite its small displacement, this little motor sounds bigger than it is and acts like it too! It actually makes some pretty decent pop for its size. It easily squeezes out 65 HP which, when coupled with the fully-synchronized four-speed manual transmission, is more than ample motivation to carry the lightweight Midget down the road at a pretty good clip. Put the car on a lift and you'll see an undercarriage that is clean and rock-solid. The steering feels nice and snug, and the brakes have a good firm pedal as they bring the car safely to a stop. The suspension seems to have endured the test of time, as this little gem handles extremely well while providing a more comfortable ride than you'd ever expect from a compact car.
