In case you missed it, there’s a female-driven movie called Hustlers set to drop in 2020 that boasts a killer cast of actresses. And on Sunday, fans got their first official look into one of the ladies the storyline centers on — Jennifer Lopez shared a snapshot of herself in a pink bikini, revealing via the cheeky caption that she was in character for the film. If the internet response to Lopez’s photo is any indication, Hustlers is bound to be a blockbuster smash.
The 49-year-old posted the pic showing off her fit frame on Instagram, quoting the Jay-Z song “I Just Wanna Love U” with the lyrics, “I’m a hustler baby… I just want you to know.” In case that wasn’t a clear enough indication of why she was sporting her sexy ensemble, Lopez added, “#Ramona on fire [fire emoji]. On set and in character for #hustlersmovie #stxentertainment.” It didn’t take long for the internet to lose its collective mind over the photo, naturally. Lopez’s new fiancé, Alex Rodriguez was rendered speechless, simply commenting with a string of emoji including an explosion, a heart, fire and a “100.” Rocker Lenny Kravitz wrote, “Boom! There it is.” So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Travis Wall marveled, “Are you for real??? Unbelievable.” Perez Hilton joked, “Damn, I’d be happy with ONE ab!” Supermodel Naomi Campbell dropped a “yes” in the comment thread, along with a mix of fire and heart emoji.
Lopez reportedly leads the STX film, which tells the story of a real-life group of ex-strippers who unite to scam their Wall Street clients out of thousands of dollars. Lopez will produce in addition to star, with the rest of the stellar cast including Cardi B, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Mercedes Ruehl, Constance Wu, Madeline Brewer and Trace Lysette.
Filming reportedly kicked off in New York last week, a fact that became public in the sweetest way, thanks to Rodriguez. On March 25, he shared a photo of himself hugging Lopez from behind and kissing her on the cheek. He captioned the cute couple pic, “This beautiful woman starts shooting her movie tomorrow, Hustlers. I won’t play spoiler, but I can’t wait until you see how she transforms herself into a completely different character!! She’s been working so hard lately. I’m glad we were able to enjoy a quick little break before she dives into this new project. Love you baby and continue to shine, fly high and inspire us all.”
He ain’t lyin’, right? After seeing Lopez’s pink bikini photo from the Hustlers set, we are definitely inspired — to see the movie when it comes out… and to hit the gym in the meantime. Lopez’s Second Act co-star Vanessa Hudgens perhaps said it best with her spot-on comment to the snapshot: “Dayum mamaa.”
