It's been more than 10 years since Drake and Josh left our screens, but we still get just as excited when we hear the show’s iconic theme song. Sadly, we've actually been singing the wrong lyrics this entire time...
Wait, what?!
Yep, that's right. According to Alternative Press, it's not entirely our fault that we've been singing the wrong words. Most places actually have the incorrect lyrics when you try to look them up.
Currently, STLyrics still has the wrong ones, which include the line, "it's gonna take some time to realize." While these lyrics might seem right (that's what we've been singing all these years), Drake actually spoke out about lyrics during a concert in 2017.
"If you're gonna sing along, you have to sing the right words," he told the crowd. "It's gonna take some time to realign. Not realize. Cause that doesn't rhyme. Realize doesn't rhyme with anything in the song. Think about it."
Now that we think about it, his reason does make sense, although our childhoods have basically been a lie until now.
Drake and Josh fans have had a crazy year. Josh did not send Drake an invitation to his wedding, which led them to fight for a while. The two recently reconciled and even made a couple of videos together for Josh's YouTube channel.
It was also revealed that the house that was featured on the show was being torn down after it was sold.
RIP our childhood. At least we can sing the right words now.
