Not all concept cars are created equal. Manufacturers have gone above and beyond with these wild designs and expert engineering studies. These are the coolest concept cars of the past decade, according to us.

Porsche 919 Street

Porsche

As the name implies, the 919 Street was supposed to be a street-legal version of Porsche's 887-hp Le Mans car. While the vehicle you see here is just a clay model, the production version would've used the same carbon monocoque, hybrid drivetrain, and wheelbase as the race car.

The 919 Street was first developed in 2017, but only saw the light of day in 2020 when Porsche unveiled a handful of awesome concepts previously unseen by the public.

Cadillac InnerSpace

Cadillac

Cadillac describes its 2022 InnerSpace concept as a "vision of personal autonomous future mobility." It's a two-seater with fully autonomous driving capabilities, says the company, powered by Ultium batteries.

Inside, passengers can choose between Augmented Reality Engagement, Entertainment, or Wellness Recovery themes within the cabin to kill the time during their rides. We're far more interested in the low-slung, sports car-like design.

Ford Pro Electric SuperVan

Ford

The Electric SuperVan, revealed in 2022, is a callback to Ford's original Seventies SuperVan prototype, which used the chassis and V-8 engine of a GT40. This electrified version is far more capable, with 1972 hp on tap thanks to four electric motors (one for each wheel).

Ford says the Electric SuperVan can sprint to 60 mph in two seconds flat. There are five drive modes: Road, Track, Drag, Drift, and Rally, each with their own programming for traction and power distribution.

There's also an updated version built to conquer Pikes Peak

Genesis

The stunning Genesis X Convertible concept is an evolution of the Genesis X Speedium Coupe, itself a drop-dead gorgeous concept car from the brand. It evokes a traditional grand-tourer attitude, with long, flowing body panels and understated yet elegant looks.

Inside you'll find four seats and a driver-focused dashboard. Sadly, Genesis has yet to put anything like the X into production, convertible or otherwise.

Porsche

The Porsche Vision Renndienst was first conceived in 2018 but wasn't shown to the public until 2020. Described as a "family-friendly space concept for up to six persons," it was all-electric, and featured a central seating position.

Porsche says the designers set out to show how they could apply the company's DNA to a segment where it would never build a car. In this case, it was the minivan segment.

BMW

The Vision M Next, revealed in summer 2019, is the M1 reborn for the 21st century. A mid-engine profile and swing-up doors allows it screams presence, while a 600-horsepower hybrid powertrain means it has the punch to back up those looks. Let's hope BMW has plans to put it into production.

Karma

The only car Karma currently builds is its GS-6 sedan, which is basically a rehashed Fisker Karma. But in late 2019, it revealed this, the SC2 concept, an all-electric 1100-horsepower supercar which is supposed to represent the future of the brand. We have our reservations, but those massive scissor doors are pretty cool.

Rolls-Royce

The 103EX was supposed to represent Rolls-Royce's idea for the future in 2016. Wildly different than any Rolls production car, it doesn't have a steering wheel, or even a driver's seat. The only place to sit is a massive couch; a place to relax while you're taken to your destination in ultimate comfort.

Here are all the details on the 103EX

The Opel GT concept from 2016's Geneva Motor Show didn't lead to a production car, but it was still incredibly neat. It had everything we want from a modern performance coupe: Great looks, tight proportions, and a low curb weight.

The Trezor was released in 2016 in Paris, sporting a version of Renault's Formula E drivetrain and autonomous driving tech. But it was the stunning design that had everyone really excited. It's too bad a production version never came to fruition.

Toyota revealed this tiny little sports coupe at the Tokyo Auto Show a few years back, and while there have been rumors about it being produced, we haven't heard much lately. Seeing as how the market for internal combustion sports cars is shrinking every day, we're not very hopeful.
