Looks like showbiz royalty Kris Aquino is about to walk down the aisle!ย In an Instagram TV post she shared on Sunday evening, the Queen of All Media made mention of a certain "Mel." Seen in the video beside her, this "Mel" is actually Mel Senen Sarmiento, a politician who served as President Noynoy Aquino's last Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary.ย
Kris captions the post, saying that, "aamin ako, Iโm only 95 pounds now. This pandemic and many stressful events... since mid August really caused my weight to drop [and] my health to suffer." "Itโs been exactly 4 months since we so unexpectedly lost our brother," she continues, "sure ako, ayaw nya talagang iwanan si โbunsoโ na walang magbabantay at magaalaga na siguradong pinagkakatiwalaan nya."ย
One can safely assume that Kris is pertaining to Mel as the person her brother trusts will take care of her. Towards Mel, Kris says, "to my best friend and the man I said yes to spending the rest of my life with, thank you for, as Bimb said, loving me for me, with no agenda, and for being just an overall good and patient man. Itโs unreal how much more calm & peaceful I feel now that youโre here." The 50-year-old actress reveals that she and Mel met mainly through her brother Noynoy. She sweetly declares that she is forever grateful for how the former Philippine president always made her and her kids feel like they were taken care of.ย
"You [Pres. Noynoy Aquino] must have known how broken Iโd be to lose you, so you made sure there was someone who not only helped wipe away my tears," Kris shares. She then talks more fondly about Mel, "Heโs made it possible for me to smile and laugh again." She adds, "dumating nung hindi ko hinahanap o inaasahan. Kaya nga tama silang lahat na nagsabi [ng]ย in Godโs perfect time."
In the video itself, Kris pushes Mel to introduce himself to her followers alongside a bountiful bouquet of pink roses. To this, he adorably exclaims, "eh hindi ako pang-showbiz." Closing out her caption, Kris expresses that, "whatโs personal shall remain private so hanggang dito lang ang pwede kong ma-share. Except I guess, to say as much as I am proud to be an Aquino, looking forward na kong maging Sarmiento."
Naturally, when someone of Kris' stature makes such an announcement, the internet goes into a complete frenzy.
