A Philippine tarsier (Carlito syrichta) a species of tarsier endemic to the Philippines. Tarsiers belongs to the family Tarsiidae whose name is derived from its elongated "tarsus" or ankle bone. The genus Carlito is named after conservationist Carlito Pizarras.
