Botanical Description

With 4 to 6, distichous, elliptic-oblong, dark green with pale green tessellation and spotted purple beneath, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the spring and late summer on a single flowered occasionally 2 to 3, erect, to 10 cm long, terminal, pubescent, dark brown inflorescence that is heavily spotted with purple and has an ovate bract carrying the pleasingly fragrant [apples] flower above the leaves.

Occurrence in Region Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, southwestern China, and northern Vietnam.
Occurrence in nature (ecology and ecosystem) This mottled leaf species can be found along streams on limestone rocks and leaf litter in dry evergreen, broad-leafed forests as well as on limestone cliff faces as a medium-sized, cool to warm growing terrestrial and lithophyte often in partial shade at elevations of 300 to 1200 meters
