Leif Garrett: Once made for dancing, now made for jail

Former '70s pop icon Leif Garrett was released from jail this morning after being arrested for possession of heroin Monday in Los Angeles. The once dreamy young singer was stopped by police and searched for drugs in a Metro station and admitted to having black tar heroin in his shoe. He is due back in court on Feb. 24 after he was released from county jail early this morning.

This was not Garrett's first run-in with the law, however. He has been arrested at least three times for drug-related offenses. It seems, sadly, that the formerly feathery-locked dreamboat of yesterday took Neil Young's infamous advice a little too seriously -- but it's difficult to say if Leif Garrett has done more burning out or fading away.
