Common Name The Projecting Petal Bulbophyllum [refers to the lower petals bend that presents the petals more forward]

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte requiring light shade, and an open mix. Similar to Bulbophyllum lobbii but differs in it's small size, stretched out petals and small pink dots between the striping on all the floral segments. This species blooms in the spring on a single flowered inflorescence.

"B orectopetalum belongs to the group of closely related species of B. lobbii Lindl. complex including B. microglossum Ridl. (found in Thailand, Malacca Peninsula, Kalimantan), B. smitinandii Seidenf. et Thorut (Thailand, Vietnam) and Bulbophyllum coweniorum from Laos and Vietnam." Tuan and Averyanov 2017
