Tim Tebow mania just hit a stunning new high … or is it low?

John Parr, who scored a smash hit with the song ‘St. Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion)’ back in 1985, has jumped on the standing-room-only Tebow bandwagon by rewriting the lyrics to his No. 1 single in honor of the Broncos quarterback.

“I was inspired by Tim Tebow so I wanted to modify the lyrics,” the British musician told Denver’s FOX31 on Monday, “… in his honor of the way that he lives his life as being a great example.”

Parr, who earned a Grammy nomination for the title track to the ’80s Brat Pack flick, originally wrote the song to honor wheelchair athlete/activist Rick Hansen.

He’s sure to garner similar critical acclaim with lyrics such as these:

“Play the game

You know you can’t quit until it’s won

Soldier on

Only you can do what must be done

You know I’m out there

Down on one knee (Tebowing!)

a prisoner

And I’m tryin’ to break free.”

And how about this poetry from the chorus:

“All I needs my Broncos team

Take me where my future’s lyin’

Tim Tebows fire

Ooooh …”

Ooooh, indeed.

Tebow, who almost caused Twitter to explode on Sunday night when he sent the Steelers home on the first play of OT with an 80-yard touchdown to Demaryius Thomas, will be back in action on Saturday night against the top-seeded Patriots in the AFC’s divisional round.

We are still awaiting word from Dexy’s Midnight Runners on if they plan on recording ‘Come on Tebow’ if the Broncos’ playoff run continues beyond this weekend.
