Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form An epiphytic orchid, it has a pendulous growth form. 
Stems The stems are slender, many noded and covered in sheaths, able to grow up to 60cm in length. The young stems bear leaves but lose them after 2 years after which they bear flowers.  
Flowers The flowers are borne on short inflorescences on old, leafless stems. The flower sepals, petals and lip range in colour from yellow to orange and have red stripes running along their length.
