Beyoncé rewrites ‘Halo’ lyrics in reference to her hair getting caught in a fan

The singer pokes fun at herself following the accident at a Montreal gig

Beyonce has poked fun at herself after getting her hair trapped in a fan during a gig on Monday night (July 22).

The singer soldiered through the concert at Montreal’s Bell Centre – part of her Mrs Carter world tour – after her hair became entangled in the blades of a fan. The accident happened while Beyonce was performing her track ‘Halo’ – but she continued her encore regardless while security guards attempted to free her.

Beyoncé later made light of the incident by posting a picture of new, handwritten lyrics to the hit song on Instagram with reference to the accident, changing the song’s lyrics from “It’s like I’ve been awakened/ Every rule I’ve had you breakin'” to “I felt my hair was yankin’/ From the fan that’s always hatin'”.

Major Lazer producer Diplo recently claimed that the singer has scrapped her new album and begun work on it all over again. The producer worked with Beyoncé on her hit single ‘Run The World (Girls)’. “The record was supposed to be done and they have been hitting me up for brand new ideas. I like to work from scratch, [but] sometimes I get called in to fix records,” he said.
