Aztec Two-Step to perform at TCAN tonight, celebrates 40 years

Staff reports
Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman are Aztec Two-Step.

Aztec Two-Step will celebrate its 40th anniversary as one of the premiere folk-rock duos of the 1970s tonight at The Center for Arts in Natick.

Appearing at 8 p.m., Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman will perform songs from their new CD, "Cause and Effect,'' which revisits old fan favorites and introduces new "give a damn'' songs for a world hungry for ideals.

For four decades, Fowler and Shulman have written and performed songs that have defined a generation's musical memories. Their new CD features their signature harmonies characterized by introspective lyrics, a dazzling accoustic lead guitar and seasoned showmanship.

The music critic for Performance Magazine described their new CD as "...some of the most endearing beautiful music I've heard in a long time... It seems to float in the darkness... They've solidified their reputation as a unique, exquisite act."

Tickets are $28 for non-members, $25 for members. Discounts available for seniors, students and children.
