Who Are You?
Who Are You?

Who Are You?

If someone accosts you and asked: "Who are you?" The automatic response is to give your name. By giving your name you feel you've answered that question. But that answer is incorrect because your name is not you - it is a label given to you by others (parents, friends, colleagues, etc) by which you identify.

Do you change when you change your name? I am certain a number of persons reading this article have probably changed their names, or are known by different names by different persons. People can, and do, change their names. But they remain the same person.

Who then are you? To answer this question, you can begin by doing the following;

* Unravel Your Personality and Core ValuesAsk yourself what's most important to you. What makes you happy? To figure out your values, you need to consider what's most important in your life. You should let your values define you. Who you are personality-wise and what values you have define your actions.

* Discover Your Passions. What drives you? Inspires you? Motivates you?

* Discover Your Skills. What are you good at?

* Sum up with a Personal Statement.

Roy T. Bennet (American Thought Leader) once said, if you do not know who you truly are, you will never know what you truly want and You must not let the roles you play in life make you forget who you are.

Allow me to introduce myself to you - "I am Chidi Chukwudi-Madu, a Biologist by education and a trained Financial Analyst by profession. Feel free to incorporate as much as your values, passions, skills as you desire into your response. It is safe to say that your response to the "Who are you" question can serve as your Personal Statement.

So, over to you, WHO ARE YOU?
