UNDERSTANDING HOW BRAND POSITIONING BOOSTS REVENUE

Brand positioning refers to the unique value that a brand presents to its customer. That is it is how a company or business positions itself in the minds of its customers and target audience. It's like the reputation or identity that a brand creates for itself in the market.

You must add value for the people you are speaking with!

-Value breathes life into your brand.

-Value sparks conversation and motivates your clients to tell tales about you and for you.

This is how THE IMPORTANT word-of-mouth advertising is obtained.

Let's dive into a story to explain how brand positioning can boost revenue:

Once upon a time, there was a small bakery called "Sweet Delights." The bakery offered delicious pastries and cakes, but it struggled to attract customers and increase revenue. The owner, Mrs. Delight, was determined to turn things around.

She realized that her bakery needed a unique identity and positioning in the market. She decided to focus on creating handcrafted, artisanal desserts using only the finest ingredients. This became the foundation of Sweet Delights' brand positioning strategy.

To convey this positioning, Mrs. Delight revamped the bakery's logo and packaging. She used earthy colors and elegant designs to reflect the craftsmanship and quality that went into each treat. The tagline "Indulge in Handcrafted Delights" was added to emphasize the bakery's dedication to creating special, high-quality desserts.

As Mrs. Delight implemented the new brand positioning strategy, something magical started to happen. Word quickly spread about Sweet Delights' artisanal pastries and cakes. Customers who appreciated the care and attention put into each dessert flocked to the bakery. They were willing to pay a premium for the superior taste and quality.

With the increased demand and customer loyalty, Sweet Delights was able to raise its prices slightly. Customers happily paid the higher prices because they associated the bakery with exquisite treats and a delightful experience. The revenue began to soar, allowing Mrs. Delight to invest in expanding the bakery's offerings and hiring additional staff.

As the bakery's reputation grew, people started traveling from neighboring towns to taste Sweet Delights' unique creations. The positive customer experiences and word-of-mouth recommendations led to even more customers walking through the bakery's doors. This resulted in a consistent stream of revenue that exceeded Mrs. Delight's expectations.

With the success of Sweet Delights' brand positioning, Mrs. Delight had the opportunity to introduce new products like Carrot bread, Banana bread etc. She expanded the menu to include customized cakes for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays. The brand positioning had created a strong foundation of trust and loyalty, making customers eager to explore the bakery's new offerings. This diversification in product offerings further increased Sweet Delights' revenue.

In the end, Mrs. Delight's dedication to brand positioning transformed Sweet Delights from a struggling bakery to a thriving business. By focusing on handcrafted, artisanal desserts and creating a strong brand identity, the bakery attracted customers who appreciated the unique experience and were willing to pay a premium. This resulted in increased revenue, customer loyalty, and opportunities for growth.

The story of Sweet Delights demonstrates how brand positioning, with its emphasis on value, uniqueness, quality, and customer experience, can play a vital role in boosting revenue for a business.

Remember, effective brand positioning requires a deep understanding of your target audience, market dynamics, and the unique value your brand offers. Consistency in messaging, visual identity, and customer experience across all touchpoints is crucial for successful brand positioning and revenue growth.

Is “handcrafted, artisanal desserts” a brand’s positioning or a brand attribute? It’s an attribute if there are others who could create handcrafted, artisanal desserts. Or better stated “handcrafted, artisanal desserts” is the name of the niche. And all the competitors in the niche can claim this attribute. It is not a true position.
