Thank boss, it's Friday: Time to mix music and work! 🧛 THE VAMPIRE HACK 🧛 🎶MUSIC: “Too old for dyin’ young, too young to live alone.” Capricorn is not your typical catchy single. The song combines bittersweet mid-tempo tunes, relaxed drum fills, and harshly discordant slide guitars. It might be unsettling at first, but the piece gradually draws you in, subtly inviting you into a mesmerizing musical realm. It left me captivated and yearning for more. A few weeks later, another track was added to what has now become a three-track record. By the fourth track, I was fully immersed in the vibe, ready to take a dive into the full LP. Kudos to Columbia Records! You reintroduced me to Vampire Weekend*, a band I had nearly forgotten since the late 2000s. The strategy of gradually releasing an EP appears to be the music industry’s latest trick – DIIV, one of best bands on the planet (believe me), is following the same playbook. This could well be the very last attempt to preserve the endangered concept of the album. In the TikTok era, many is too much: Who is prepared to take in and process over 10 brand new songs at once? We’re not talking about familiar covers or a compilation of remixes here, but genuine musical compositions. 📍WORK: What about you? How much do you need to convey to your team? You have a vision: you know where you want to lead your organization. You have a strategy on how to get there. Now, you need everyone on board! But how much can your team members absorb and understand? Don't overestimate their capacity to absorb novelty. Can you begin by inviting them in? Share what you aim to achieve. Perhaps tell a story that will give flesh to what you have in mind: “In two years, this is what our organization will look like…”. Take questions and allow the vision to settle in. Then, after some time, provide more details on the strategy you’ve planned. “This is how we will gain a competitive edge...” Don’t rush. They’ll soon be ready to dive into the full plan. *The album is out today.

***START EVERYDAY ASKING YOURSELF THIS QUESTION**** 📢 Are you living a life that when you die there is standing room only? 📢 Riding home the other day on the radio I heard Tim McGraw's new song "Standing Room Only." Even if you are not a country fan the lyrics are so powerful. If you really simplify life, the biggest question is am I impacting people's life and making the world a better place? That should be your simplest goal everyday. My paternal grandma Ethel Ballard was a modest women, but she left an impact on this world that was amazing. Everywhere she went in Kenosha, WI she would make friends and you could not go into a public place without bumping into someone she knew. When she died, she was pretty much broke monetarily, but she left a legacy like a millionaire. The people that filled the church, drove to gravesite, and packed the banquet hall afterwards the day of her funeral to have a toast to her life said it all. What is your purpose and vision in life? In the "On-Demand World" that we live in today, we often loose sight of what really matters and what a meaningful life is all about. Are you living a life that will have Standing Room Only????? #purpose #purposedriven #purposedrivenleadership #lifeworthliving #legacy #makeadifference #makeachange #makeeverymomentcount #makeeverydaycount

MERCY THERE WAS GREAT Karen Gumke <kgumke@daktel.com> For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy. -Titus 3:3-5 Ephesians 2:8-9 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 1 Peter 1:3 You don’t need a fire brigade to come to your house if your house isn’t on fire; neither would you want a doctor administering an IV drip when you’re perfectly healthy. It’s pointless! Similarly, until we are truly aware of our need for forgiveness, God’s story of grace and mercy doesn’t really mean much to us. We will think it irrelevant. From time to time, we are all guilty of looking around and recognizing that others are dreadfully in need of forgiveness while turning a blind eye to our own need. “Thankfully,” we say to ourselves (though we don’t like to admit this), “I’m not like them.” By God’s grace, though, we soon realize that we too have been unkind, have said and done things we shouldn’t have, or have failed to do what we should have. In such moments of conviction, we are aware of our need for forgiveness, and we are grateful when it’s extended by those we’ve offended. We can’t have all the upside of forgiveness, in other words, without the downside of recognizing our sin. First, we need to see ourselves rightly: by nature as lost sheep, rebels against God, empty vessels needing to be filled. We need to accept that however long we go on in the Christian life and however much the Spirit changes us in this life, we never outgrow our need for grace because we never outrun our own sinfulness. We need to realize what we deserve for our sins before we will bow down in wonder at the realization that a perfect Savior died in our place and paid all that we owe so that we might receive God’s forgiveness. Our great need is to continue to turn to Christ in faith and repentance. Every one of us, no matter where we are in our walk with Christ, needs to pray that God would show us the truth both about ourselves and about our Savior. Then, as we grow in our understanding of all that we deserve, we will adore that very Savior more and more each day. We will stand in awe of God’s love and all that Jesus has done for us. ~Alistair Begg ************************ Father God, show me myself and help me to reflect on my own sin, and surrender in repentance to Your forgiveness. Then show me my Savior, that I may bask in the reality and joy of His mercy. May the reality of all He has done for me consume my affection. In His beautiful name, amen. My scripture hero has always been Nephi. This week has been a real test of my faith. My faith in myself mainly. Things happen in this life that it is just so hard not to question, “Why?” “How could this happen to me?” Life’s trials can cause even a strong person to buckle and just wonder - “What did I do wrong to deserve this?” I wouldn’t be honest if I said that I was like Nephi and just continued to have faith and not question God’s Will when the fiery darts come at me. Especially when those darts are more like arrows and are from those you trust. It’s interesting because although I have questioned God for not opening my mind to truth earlier, I am beginning to see more and more how He has prepared me to move through this situation. “How has He prepared me for this moment?” He prepared me by having me get all the coaching I did last year with understanding the brain better. He has led me to this very moment. He placed a person in my path. Someone that has had similar things happen not long ago that can help me walk through this. “What lessons am I supposed to learn from this?” The mind is a powerful thing. The reality is that by changing my perspective to a more eternal one, this is hardly a blip. It is easier said than done but I’m choosing to change the verbiage I tell myself and focus on what I can control. This is my journey. I will go and do. #simplyforyourbenefit https://lnkd.in/erZyNGX2
