Jackie Wilson was an electrifying on-stage showman and one of the best singers and performers of all time. His athletic stage moves influenced everyone from Elvis Presley to James Brown, and his astounding vocal range included highpitched whooping to operatic crooning, and everything in between. Known as “Mr. Excitement”, Jackie Wilson’s unique singing style combined a passionate delivery with infectious energy. He was a very important influence on the soul era that followed his prominence in the music business. He was also a significant contributor in building early rock & roll into the commercial success that it became. This release compiles two of his complete Brunswick LPs: He’s So Fine (1958) and Lonely Teardrops (1959). Both sensational albums contain some of his greatest studio recordings from the beginning of his career, including well known hits such as “Reet Petite”, “Lonely Teardrops” and “You Better Know It”. This special collector’s edition also includes 6 bonus tracks from the same period. There’s no better proof of Jackie Wilson’s talents than these consistent, stylish and exuberant remastered recordings.
