None of these seem quite worth a thread of their own but I hope to spur discussion of all of them...grew up with this record and know every line of every song, including tons of weak jokes I did not get as a kid.

Some of these are just plain odd - like, "Surfin' Bird" split apart into "The Bird's The Word" and "Papa Oom Mow Mow" - I'm sure these did exist as minor hits but it warped me and hearing the Trashmen version still kinda confuses me.

I loved the Alan Sherman as a kid, tho it gave me a very odd idea of what Ulysses was like. I also used to think "The Streak" was hilarious. Even as a kid, I knew Charlie Drake was shit. At least half of these don't seem to have made it over to the UK in any memorable way.

Little Red Riding Hood - Sam the Sham & The Pharaohs

Haha, I like the Charlie Drake song! There's some nicely-delivered moments ("My boy Mac! Why? What's wrong with him?") even if the whole thing is kind of a limp noodle.

I think I liked Charlie D's version of "Splish Splash" but that's a decent tune anyway.

Voted for "Hello Mudduh Hello Faddah" anyway. Don't think I've heard it for 20 plus years and can still remember huge chunks of it.

Listened to this a lot as a kid! Gotta be "They're Coming to Take Me Away."

As a kid I enjoyed deciding which of the characters on the front cover went with which acts. Seemed reasonable that the Frankenstein guy had something to do with either Dinner With Drac or Haunted House - and in hindsight it seems obvious that the guy at front left is supposed to be Napoleon XIV. The rest are up for grabs though - I think in my mind the sunglasses dude was Nervous Norvus.

Mother-In-Law - Ernie K-Doe

This is a novelty tune? Best of the bunch, regardless.

I was going to start a novelty poll that included Purple People Eater and Monster Mash

It's not that the Whoolery's are big Obama fans they just don't like people joking about a serious matter concerning any leader of the country.

"I'm assuming if it were, 'Assassinate McCain' you'd feel the same way?" asked reporter Nate Eaton.

"No question about it," replied Whoolery.

Oh man, Idaho...sometimes I do not miss you at all. You and your almost-literate embarrassing journalism.

Is this on cd now or something? I can't decide which "Nervous Norvus" to vote for.

"Transfusion" has a really great, murky sound on the chorus, "Ape Call" has the Tarzan yell... both have some great lyrics. "Be zorch, Daddy-O" vs "I'm a cotton-pickin' mess of contusions."

Ape Call is always Jacksonville Florida's WAPE 95.1 theme to me:

Napoleon XIV. Would have faced tougher competition on Rhino's "Dr. Demento" compilation though.
(And where are Barron Knights????!!!=

I found via Amazon that most of the Nervous Norvus is pretty good! Tiny Tim has done superior work elsewhere.
