If you spent all summer right before seventh grade grooving to We like to party and We're going to Ibiza then you were one cool kid and we could be friends...almost! Give it up for the band who churned out your childhood anthem - The Vengaboys! They have been missing on the music scene for almost 15 years but the Dutch band is back and making it's way to the Indian subcontinent crazy hats, shiny bralets, and shirtless vests intact (we hope)! So jump aboard the vengabus and play catch up with one of the longest standing dance bands in the world:

Grazia: We haven't heard from the vengaboys in 15 years... what's been keeping the band busy?

The Vengaboys: The partying never stops!! We've been touring a lot. Mainly in Europe. But we had two awesome tours in Australia in 2012 and 2013 and a tour in South Africa last year. Now it's time for India and see if you guys still know how to party.

G: We grew up on your catchy songs in India, were you aware back then of how popular you guys were in this country?

TV: Back in the days, we did an India Tour. It was just crazy! So many loving fans and at that time we broke Indian Record sales. It's great to come back after all these years.

G: What has been the most bizarre thing a fan has told you yet?

TV: One time there was a guy who told us he used to sleep with two plastic blowup dolls in his bed. He had cut out the faces of Kim and Denice from a poster and stuck it on the dolls.

G: What's happening with the venga bus? Has it been upgraded yet?

TV: Yes, Venga Air. But Vengabus will always be the same to us.

G: From your hits back then, which was collectively favourite?

TV: It's a close call between Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom, We're going to Ibiza and We Like To Party!. Even they were number one hits in the UK, I think the latter is our all time Vengaboys party favorite. When we perform this song on stage the crowd goes totally mad.

G: The 90s were pretty kickass....what do you think about the current era?

TV: Yes music since the 90s has changed a lot. Beats got more complex with different grooves. And we like that. We try to evolve as well while staying true to ourselves. We love the pop scene as it is today. A lot of great artists have joined the pop pool.

G: If you could bring back 3 things from the 90s, what would you bring back?

TV: Parties, music and fashion

G: How has your music evolved in the past 10+ years?

TV: In general, our music did not change that much over the years. The lyrics still have a naughty side to them but sometimes we try to find a new "sound" just to keep things fun. We work with two producers who have been making music with the band for some time now. So, our sound hasn't changed. The present line-up has three original members and Donny makes a great addition to the team.

G: Is Ibiza still your favourite destination?

TV: Haha, yes it still is!! As a matter of fact we love the party island even more as the years go by.

G: What has been your favourite bit on your India tour yet?

TV: The huge amount fan base that we share in India. Its just amazing to see so many mails and messages coming to us.. loving all the love.
