If there's one thing Kelly Clarkson is going to do, it's make any hit song feel like it belongs to her.

The latest song to get the Clarkson treatment during the Kellyoke segment of her daytime talk show was the TikTok viral track “ABCDEFU” by Gayle. However, Clarkson didn't just belt out a better version than the original (don't take it personally, Gayle—it's just what she does). She also changed a very significant lyric, and the switch appears to be directed toward her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

Here's the original lyric: “A-B-C-D-E, F-U and your mom and your sister and your job and your broke-ass car and that shit you call art.”

Here's what Clarkson sang: “A-B-C-D-E, forget you and your dad and the fact that you got half. And my broken heart—turned that shit into art.”

Clarkson and Blackstock filed for divorce in June 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. After a lengthy settlement battle, she was reportedly required to make a onetime payment of $1.3 million to Blackstock in addition to monthly payments of $115,000 for spousal and child support. The former couple split custody of their two children, eight-year-old River Rose and six-year-old Remington Alexander. All that drama doesn't even include the ongoing lawsuit against her former father-in-law's management company. “Forget you and your dad,” indeed.

As for turning her broken heart into art, Clarkson recently announced her upcoming album, Chemistry, which was three years in the making. “It's called Chemistry because I was trying to find a word that really described the whole thing,” she said in an Instagram video on March 26, “because I didn't want everybody to think I was just coming out with some just like, ‘I'm angry. I'm sad.’ This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship, and a whole relationship shouldn't be just brought down to one thing. So there's the good, the bad, and the ugly kind of thing going on in it.”

She continued, “Chemistry can be a really amazing, sexy, cool, fun thing, but it can also be very bad for you.”

In December 2021, Clarkson joked that her next album should be called Red Flag Collector.

“I regret nothing,” Kelly Clarkson said on the Love Someone With Delilah podcast, per People. “Even unfortunate things that happen in your life or hard things, ’cause we can do hard things. But also I feel like that's what shapes you, it's what makes you a better person, it's what makes you recognize: Okay, I missed those red flags, I missed that, I ignored that on purpose.”

She added, “I mean…I'm just collecting them. I was apparently wanting to do some kind of exhibit with a lot of them.” Okay, who else can't wait to listen to Chemistry?
