More than A Thousand Miles
Vanessa Carlton's first CD,Be Not Nobody,contains much more than "A Thousand Miles," the song that made her famous.Within the CD their is excellent instrument work,meaningful lyrics,and a sound that is uniquely Vanessa. One of my favorite songs is "Paradise." When I first listened to the song I made a deep personal connection with it.It tells the tale of someone failing to have self-control,finding herself in the same postion year after year.Other favorties of mine are "Twilight," "Wanted," and "Ordinary Day." The lyrics are amazing. Vanessa Carlton is amazing
I heard Vanessa Carlton play A Thousand Miles on the Extreme Home Makeover show, and had to listen to the CD. I realize that I have heard her songs in movies or other tv shows, but she is awesome. I LOVE this CD, but especially Pretty Baby, A Thousand Miles and Just a Day. Be Not Nobody - a double negative. She IS somebody!

Excellent lyrical, vocal, and piano talent. 11 tracks, all highly enjoyable. Vanessa Carlton- Be Not Nobody was a defining CD of the year 2003 for me. Songs: Ordinary Day and A Thousand Miles were chart toppers while Pretty Baby and Twilight are two of my favorites.

A blast from the past
I loved the music and in the past i had the CD but it had gotten lost somehow. This is one of the very few CD's created by an artist that i can actually say i enjoyed more than 80% of the songs. It brings to mind a mellow love song and then some raw emotions with some of the darker tunes towards the end. But all in all great mix. Sway is one of my favorites.
