A good definitive collection of Glenn Miller
Contains 25 recordings on each of the 3 CDs. Appears to be full length, original recordings and digitally remastered so the sound is very good. And it's fun! If you like Miller or if you don't know Big Band music and want to try it, this is a good place to start. Was made in UK so the definitive list of "top hits" may be a little surprising, in terms of some that are in the set, and some that are not. But you won't find 75 of Miller's best for this price anywhere else in any other anthology. He was a major contributor to American music history and you'll hear a very broad cross section of it on this set. Contains 25 recordings on each of the 3 CDs. John McCall knows his way around this magnificent Wurlitzer--having recorded and concertized on it for over a decade. This is his very best album, especially because it captures an era of American music that will never be duplicated. The Wurlitzer is ready for the challenge with its array of lush orchestral sounds and real percussion, including marimbas, harps, cymbals, and even a fog horn!
