The Lepismium Cruciforme is also known by its more common name of Hurricane Cactus. Itis a most unusual cactus. It is one of those succulents that are called epiphytic. This means that its roots are not always anchored directly in the ground, and it can grow on another plant.
 
 
Unlike most other species of cactus, the Lepismium Cruciforme is not a desert succulent. It does not need hot, arid areas to grow. It is native to the tropical and subtropical rainforests of Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina.
