Growth Habits: Tree-like, up to 15 feet tall (5 m); stems with 9 ribs; areoles 0.4 inches in diameter (1 cm); 3 central spines, upper one up to 2 in. long (5 cm), lower 2, 0.2 in. (5 mm); 7-11 short black laterals
