Amid news that they are divorcing after 39 years of marriage, here are the Captain & Tennille singing their breakout hit, “Love Will Keep Us Together,” on “The Midnight Special.”

This live 1970s performance is notable in that Toni Tennille is playing not one but two keyboards, and Darryl Dragon is playing many more than that, including a piano, Hammmond organ with Leslie rotating speaker and a few synthesizers. The duo and a drummer are all that’s needed to fill out the complex layers of sound on the hit song that brought them to fame.
