Ariana's "yes, and?" lyrics are a pretty obvious response to chatter about her life in the wake of her split from Dalton Gomez, and at one point in the song, the singer even says, "Now, I'm so done with caring / What you think, no, I won't hide / Underneath your own projections / Or change my most authentic life."

During another moment, she also seems to pretty directly reference the internet obsessing over her relationship with Ethan Slater: "Don't comment on my body, do not reply / Your business is yours and mine is mine / Why do you care so much whose dick I ride?"
