2021 Toyota Camry TRD: A sporty surprise

Toyota launched the Camry TRD for the 2021 model year offering customers a sportier performance option.

The Camry TRD is powered exclusively by a 3.5-liter V6 making 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque.

An eight-speed automatic is bolted to the engine, helping return an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

To sharpen styling, the Camry TRD receives a black grille with mesh insert, front splitter, side skirts and rear wing.

The Camry TRD rides on 19-inch matte black wheels wrapped with Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires.

To improve handling, engineers began by installing strong underbody bracing to increase torsional rigidity.

The suspension features retuned shocks, springs and thicker antiroll bars to improve the Camry TRD's cornering capabilities.

Dual piston front calipers and larger front rotors improve the TRD's brake performance.

The interior features red accent stitching, red seat inserts, red seat belts, a TRD shift knob, floor mats and aluminum pedals.

The 2021 Toyota Camry TRD begins at $33,285, including $1,025 for destination.
