Before Jenny From the Block became a global phenomenon, Jennifer Lopez was just a Fly Girl on the wall in Janet Jackson‘s “That’s The Way Love Goes” video.
Throw in a blockbuster role as late Tejano icon Selena Quintanilla-Perez in the 1997 drama Selena and the catchy J.Lo nickname, plus a few high-profile romances (past boyfriends include Ben Affleck and Sean “Diddy” Combs) and there was no blocking the Bronx-bred, Puerto Rican-proud hustler’s shine.
While Lopez has loaded up her resume with her own cable channel (NuvoTV) and a Las Vegas residency and is currently plotting another Spanish-language album executive produced by ex-husband Marc Anthony, some of her brightest career highlights were her collaborations with hip-hop’s finest.

“I’m Real (Remix)” feat. Ja Rule
The Ja and J.Lo connection was so real that the duo collaborated on two tracks. The first confirmation of their chemistry came in the form of the 2009 remix of Jennifer Lopez’s “I’m Real” from her 2001 sophomore effort J.Lo. Lopez’s sartorial choices were also a hit as the pink velour jumpsuit was a summer staple.
“Ain’t It Funny” feat. Ja Rule

“I’m Gonna Be Alright” feat. Nas
The Bronx and Queens connect for J.Lo’s resilient anthem “I’m Gonna Be Alright.” It was also a sampling jackpot featuring interpolations of Luniz’s 1995 hit “I Got 5 on It,” which references the 1987 Club Nouveau record “Why You Treat Me So Bad.”

J-to-tha-L-O said hello to the LOX for this ode to her native Bronx.
“Feelin’ So Good” feat. Fat Joe & Big Pun
Everything about this collaboration and its visual counterpart screamed New York. The Bronx’s hip-hop elite teamed with Lopez for this Friday night gem, which was also produced by her former beau, Diddy. The video features Lopez trading in her puffy down jacket and Timberland boots for a cropped black fur coat, midriff-baring top and heels for a girls’ night out where the squad hops on the 6 train (a nod to her debut album On The 6) and hits the club only to dominate the dance floor. Cameos from collaborators Fat Joe and Big Pun make the cypher complete.
“Dinero” ft. DJ Khaled, Cardi B
In 2018, Lopez teamed up with two of hip-hop’s hottest artists of the moments to give life to “Dinero.” Alongside DJ Khaled and Cardi B, J.Lo dropped a Spanglish trap song fused with rap music that highlights a woman who only wants her money. The black-and-white music video shows Lopez living her glamorous life in her mansion and private jet.
