The Black Eyed Peas’ Top 10 Hits
Among the Black Eyed Peas’ 10 biggest Billboard Hot 100 hits, five are from the act’s 2009 album, “The E.N.D.,” and it’s no wonder. Between “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling,” the group spent half of the 2009 chart year atop the chart. So it’s no surprise that the two singles lead the group’s recap of its top charting Hot 100 songs.
The pair of tracks were the first offerings from “The E.N.D.,” which became the group’s first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last year when it debuted atop the tally. It has sold 2.6 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The Interscope act’s cumulative U.S. album sales for all of its releases stand at 10.7 million. That includes 4.3 million for 2005 set “Monkey Business” and 3.2 million for 2003’s “Elephunk” (the group’s first album with then-new member Fergie).
“The E.N.D.” has been the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to hit singles. On the June 19 Hot 100, when “Rock That Body” vaulted 16-9, the album became the first in two decades by a duo or group to yield a quintet of top 10s on the survey. “Rock” followed “Boom,” “Feeling,” the No. 7 hit “Meet Me Halfway” and the No. 1 single “Imma Be.”

Titles on this chart are ordered by peak position on the Billboard Hot 100. If more than one title peaked at the same position, ties were broken by the number of weeks spent at the peak. If ties still remained, they were broken by the number of weeks on the chart, and then in the top 10 and/or the top 40, depending on where the title peaked. — text by Keith Caulfield
