If you're familiar with Freddie Mercury's Mr. Bad Guy album released under CBS in 1985 and Barcelona released under Polydor in 1988, you will be familiar with most tracks on this compilation album. The additional tracks such as 'Going Back' and 'I Can Hear Music' recorded under the moniker Larry Lurex in 1971 are included in here. Even if listeners already own the 2000 release Freddie Mercury Solo , a remaster of Mr. Bad Guy and Barcelona plus an additional CD of songs you might already have known from the 1992 The Freddie Mercury Album, this is still a worthy buy. For starters, this includes the full version of Freddie's cover of 'Going Back' released under the Larry Lurex moniker. The 2000 Freddie Mercury Solo remastered release does not include this track.
Buy the DOUBLE album version of this release. The Dance Remixes are a delight along with the extra long versions of 'My Love is Dangerous' and 'Made in Heaven'. The demo entitled 'Love Making Love' will capture your ears from its opening chords. For the dance remixes I would like to point out the George Demure Almost Vocal Remix of' I Was Born To Love You' provides a new angle of appreciating the song from a electro dance point of view. Rather than having additional effects in a song or splicing and splitting a well known track, this remix is a new track by itself. My pick among all the dance remixes.

If someone is a fan of Freddie's concert video's and has no clue who Steve, Buddy, and Sammy are then this will be a disappointing CD for them. If you are a Real true Freddie follower, then this is just what you need. The first time I played this CD I wanted to repeat every song but kept my hand off the repeat button. Keep in mind that the tracks are all studio sound.. The more commercial tracks we hear as originals as well. After listening to both CD's you get the true depth and emotion and some of the despair of his life. You also realize the true genius of someone who grabbed song idea's out of thin air, wrote all that down, wrote the music to make you feel, and sang his heart out too. All in tights and a leather jacket and makeup.

I knew that this one of his last albums. I knew it would have innovative combinations of genres. However to hear the work sent me to a heavenly realm. I could enjoy his voice, Caballe's voice and it was truly a great experience.

Yes, this is not a typical Queen work; however, it is worth the time to listen and re-listen to the album. I have listened to this work over and over. I learn or gain more pleasure with each hearing. It is a lot like reading a good book. When you re-read it you learn more. So it is with this innovative work of art.

It is truly a shame that Freddie Mercury did not have time to do more innovative work and also to edit some of it.

Although I enjoyed it, I thought some places in the album could do with a bit of touching up. This is not to say I would not recommend it. On the contrary, I recommend it very much.

Being a queen fan for the past 40 years, there is little I have not already heard by the band and the solo efforts by its members. This collection of Freddie Mercury tunes represents the best he had to offer from his many solo projects away from the band. While most of this material has already been available on previous releases, it is very nice to have it all together on one disc. My main complaint is with the remixes. While some of the remixes are interesting, others are downright lousy. Why tamper with Mercury's musical perfection? How many different ways can you change "Love Kills", which is a masterpiece in its original form? The remixes is what prevented this collection from achieving a five star rating. Still, if you want the best of the best from Mr. Mercury and his career away from Queen this is the collection to have. His operatic ventures will prove a pleasant surprise to many if you have not already heard them on his "Barcelona" release! They demonstrate the magnitude of his vocal prowess!

What a great CD! I love Freddie Mercury, always have, always will. His voice is pure magic. Mix that with his passion for what he does and you have an explosion. Which is exactly what this CD is. An explosion of all things that made Freddie great. His voice, his lyrics, his piano playing & the obvious love of his craft. I like the first disc better than the second, but only because the second seems more like dance versions of some of the songs on the first disc. Even so, it's amazing and gives me goosebumps. I really wonder what he would be producing today. Nothing short of brilliance I'm sure. If you are a fan of Queen or Freddie Mercury solo, then this is a must for your collection. Especially since some of the songs are from albums no longer in production. Enjoy!!!

I love Freddie Mercury and I love the music on this CD. What I object to is all this remixing going on and changing the original sound intended by Freddie. I prefer to listen to his music just the way he wrote and performed it. His talent stands on its own. I hesitate to buy these types of CDs, but there are some songs on this CD that were not remixed. I think people need to have the choice of which to buy, the original recordings or the remixes. I would be willing to bet that the original recordings would far outsell the remixed versions. Let's preserve Freddie's music exactly as he recorded and intended it to be. He had the most incredible and beautiful voice and his music was so very unique. Buyer beware, most of this CD are remixed versions, however, I feel it is still worth owning and any Freddie Mercury fan will still want it for their collection. The five stars are for Freddie and his music.

I would've loved attending one of their concerts. So sad about Freddy tho. The world lost an outstanding performer and a kind-hearted man that awful day. Freddie Mercury lavorò a due soli album da solista, Mr. Bad Guy e Barcellona, ma partecipò anche alla realizzazione di altri pezzi per progetti differenti, in questa raccolta sono presenti sia tracce estratte dagli album di cui sopra, sia pezzi originali non presenti in quegli album.

Nel CD 1 sono presenti le tracce originali ed i remix più noti, mentre il CD 2 raccoglie alcuni remix particolari, versioni demo e versioni estese.

Il libretto all’interno contiene:
