It is so hard to believe that whenever someone does do a cover song, it almost always does not work the second time around from the original. There are very few exceptions to where it did work even better. Thee premiere examples are Whitney Houston's version of I Will Always Love You from The Bodyguard, which was 1000x better than Dolly Parton's original, and Simply Red's intimate and soulful rendition of If You Don't Know Me By Now originally by Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes than won the British soul group their only Grammy in 1990 for Best R&B Song. As for anyone who has covered a Michael Jackson song over the years, they truthfully have done more of them from his era with The Jackson 5, and not as many for his own era. There have been very few Michael Jackson covers that have shown to really deliver. But back in 2001, there was a really driven one by Alien Art Farm. They had a really driven version of Michael Jackson's smash from Bad, Smooth Criminal. The song was hard core Rock driven at the heart, and delivered more than a bite that many songs of that year shown. Especially in a era, where it was more about Britney Spears & Backstreet Boys which became more tiring in Corporate Teen Pop and nothing heartfelt. It is just too bad it was Alien Ant Farm's only major hit, and sadly they disbanded shortly after. If you do love Hard Rock covers, I suggest you get down with this one.

Dear Amazonians,
I see that a review has already been written for this title, but I would like to throw in my own two cents.
Alyssa, the reviewer before me, seems to only care about Christian music, and does not give Smooth Criminal enough credit. I understand that she likes Christian music, and I do too, depending on the particular music, however Smooth Criminal deserves more credit than she Alyssa gives it.
Perhaps the most intriguing thing about Smooth Criminal to me, is the influence that Michael Jackson has had on it. Even after ten years of not performing and various scandals, Michael Jackson has a firm place in today's pop culture. From N'Sync, to the Backstreet Boys to Britney Spears, to, yes, Alien Ant Farm, Michael Jackson seems to have had a very inspiring and powerful effect on pop musicians.
Smooth Criminal is almost a remake of a Michael Jackson title by the same name, with a few updates. Michael Jackson, the legend, lives on. Keep it coming!

This cd is the type that has fans tapping with the outstanding rhythm of the music. The song "Smooth Criminal" is especially appealing because it is a remake of The King of Pop's (Michael Jackson)song. The remake intesifies that beat and tone of an all-time popular song. The song's lyrics, tone, and beat all flow together to create an unconventional type of music. The song brings an alternative of the once pop song back.
The CD overall leaves a strong impression. All of the songs vary so the listener will not get bored of the CD. They fluctuate from an alternative to an alternative nearing punk type of music.
