I bought this and one other CD for a 1920's speakeasy themed murder mystery dinner party I put together. It really set the mood from the moment my guests arrived.. They said it was the best party they'd ever been to and I contribute the success largely to this music playing in the background most of the night.

Not as risque as its predecessor, but great music of the period. I don't think Dorothy Lee recorded extensively; but she is here doing the same song from "Syncopation" with Morton Downey and Waring's Pennsylvanians. Even if it is directly from the movie, I am glad to have it.

really excellent collection I have listened to many times, since all but 2 or 3 the cuts are really great .. also looked up many of the bands listed to see what they were all about, and ordered their CDs too

Naughty in the 20's, not the sort of graphic lyrics of today thankfully. Actually I have yet to get what is 'naughty' about some of the songs, others I do. Even then you usually read into it as it is not the modern in your face lyrics. Got into some twenties music trying to learn the Charleston. I may need some bootleg whisky to move fast enough to keep up. They are not all fast tunes though. Some are, some slow, several kind of funny. Certainly something different to listen to. I enjoyed it.

The music was perfect...it even had the scratchy sound like it was old.

This is a great collection of songs from the Roaring 20s. Toe tapping and lots of fun. I would recommend it to anyone who likes music from this era.
