If you're familiar with Rodney Carrington's comedy, this will totally throw you for a loop. His rendition of Grown Up Christmas List is very moving, and well done. Ich habe mir diese CD gekauft, da ich ein Fan von Rodney Carrington bin und ich bereue es kein bisschen.
Mit einer wundervollen ruhigen Stimme singt er diese Weihnachtslieder. Perfekt für die "sinnliche Zeit".
Zugegeben, ich bin ein echter Weihnachtsmuffel, aber hier mache ich gerne eine Ausnahme.

Auch habe ich die CD als Hintergrundmusik für einen Saunabereich laufen lassen und das Feedback war durch die Bank positiv.

Besonders schön finde ich, dass die Titel in Mitteleuropa nicht so bekannt sind wie sie es in den USA zu sein scheinen, denn dadurch wird das typische Weihnachts-Klischee nicht bedient (zumindest bei uns) und es verleitet keine "hypermusikalischen" Deutschen dazu mitzusingen ;)

Top comedian and songster Rodney Carrington has come up with a fabulous gem of a CD with this album. If you like a good mix of musical styles on one CD this truly awesome album is for you. Rodney covers it all and I had no idea this guy was such an accomplished artist having performed one of the best Christmas albums I have heard. Here you will find a little country,a little jazz, a soft ballad or two and some real swingers all accompanied by a large orchestra that makes this such a wonderful album.

Rodney sings with such passion and feeling for each wonderful song and to be honest I have never found it so difficult to single out a number on a CD for special mention they are all so wonderful,however,I could not possibly ignore the fact that Rodney's renditions of Grown Up Christmas List, Mary Did You Know and Presence of Love are so beautiful I can put my hand on my heart and say that you will not find a more heart wrenching and sincere performance of these songs anywhere.With very skillful phrasing and clear diction Rodney gives these gorgeous songs the performances they deserve.

This album is beautifully orchestrated and arranged throughout and the entire CD is pure magic making this one of the best albums for the holiday season. There is a real sense of love and the real meaning of Christmas throughout the entire album. With all good wishes for a very Happy Christmas to you all - Happy Holidays and happy listening !
