These CD recordings of the Kingston Trio are exactly the same as the vinyl LP's I listened to when they were first released in the `50's. Only better. No surface scratch, turntable rumble, or hiss.
They recall some of the best memories I have of those days when I was a teenager and the trio was not much older. They were a unique group, and the best thing is they still are... they still live in their music. All we need is their recordings and our memories.
Their music spans the years and is just as good listening today as it was then. I truly feel sorry for people who can't appreciate and enjoy their music.

These two albums contain some of the best-known Kingston Trio songs, M.T.A., Molly Dee, Corey, Corey, and A Worried Man. But there's more fine material here that still blows me away with their quality. All My Sorrows and Across the Wide Missouri are in a category all their own with timeless themes and a depth of emotion in the singing that is unmatched in today's surface-skimming jingles. Round About the Mountain is a rousing, emotionally-charged song celebrating an all-forgiving God. For the money, you can't find a better blend of vocal and instrumental talent than what the Kingston Trio delivers on At Large and Here We Go Again.

My dad always used to sing these songs to me, and I thought he made them up, but I found this album, and was amazed that all the songs I knew from my childhood were on this disk. It's heavy on sea shanties like Blow Ye Winds and Haul Away. They're very catchy tunes, and more refined than some of the more folksy ones like 'Round About the Mountain and Goober Peas (which I think is the song Michelle Pheiffer sings in the movie with the Bridges brothers). If you like harmonized, vocal songs with really memorable tunes and good lyrics, you'll like them. Some of the songs are covers, but they have a nice way of arranging them.

I wish I had bought ALL of these two-fer CDs when Capitol released them more than 20 years ago. I've always enjoyed The Kingston Trio, and especially the At Large album. The sound quality is better than I would have imagined for a recording that's 55 years old, but this is top notch. I had been cautioned that the reissue of these two-fer recordings on the Collector's Choice label were not quite as good technically, so the other early albums have not been bought. I am a little reluctant to try them.

I've been searching for this album for a long time & when I find it, it's a DOUBLE album! All the great songs I've wanted on a CD.

I waited a long time to be able to get the original Kingston Trio songs I loved in the 60s. For a long time they were not available. This album is true to the original recordings and it is a great value with two albums on the same CD.

CD was exactly as presented: new and unwrapped. Arrived quickly. The CD has good sound quality. And what can I say...it's a trip into my childhood. (My mom would play this record)

Had really only wanted one of the cds but took the double set to get it. They’re fine.
