This album, commercial appeal and all, is still one of Frank's best albums. The songwriting/ stories being told are excellent and the album is very consistent. I never skip a song. All of the guitar aspects are present, just not as lengthy compared to past albums. Some favorite songs include Stories of a Hero, Maybe It's Time, Ditch Queen, and Juggernaut....all classic Frank Marino material. If you enjoyed his previous album, Power of Rock n Roll then you will like this too. Me, I enjoy just about anything he does as his talent playing guitar is captivating.

This along with some of Frank's other cds are hard to find. I like this about as much as anything Frank has ever done. The last song 'Juggernaut' is a real stormer (also covered by Helloween on Metal Jukebox). The Double live cd(actually it's only a single disc) covers alot of the material here making it my fave among his live cds. His first live cd was filled with an over abundance of covers and blues tunes for my liking. His Reallive 2 disc set although very good didn't have enough from my 3 fave studio cds (What's next?, The Power of Rock and Roll, Juggernaut).Although I'm reviewing Juggernaut, I'd recommend those other 2 even more so. The Power of Rock and roll has some cheesy lyrics at times, but there are three songs which ABSOLUTELY SMOKE: Running Wild, Go Strange, and Ain't dead yet. All three are more than 6 or 7 minutes long so there's alot of soloing. Frank is not too fond of this one but he should redeem the stuff he likes from it by doing it live. And sorry Frank, but a mere minute or so as part of a medley on your latest live cd isn't what I'm talkin' bout! Is it too much to hope for if some would make it to this dvd that was suppopsed to come out already? I didn't realize how good What's next? was until I got it. The song 'Something's comin' our way' has soloing all through the song - even under the singing!(the studio version is better than the live versions) and it goes right into 'Rock n'Roll hall of fame' which is a guitar lover's dream. The 5 bonus live songs on mine make this my fave of the 3(even though Power has 3 gargantuan monster cuts). His latest studio cd Eye of the storm I like as well, but these 3 a bit more. You can hear these songs streaming on his website if you don't know what they sound like, but getting these on cd is a must!

I don't know how I've gone all of these years being a huge classic underground rock listener and missing Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. But a couple of years ago I heard another band cover the rip-and-tear title track from this album and absolutely loved it. So I finally got around to exploring Marino's work (check out [...] to stream samples of almost his entire back catalog) and was completely blown away. "Juggernaut" isn't the only good song here-- every track is fantastic. This album rocks all the way through and is Marino's peak in creativity. A must have for anyone who loves quality power and blues rock. Worth the import price. And by the way, you want the CD. Sound quality blows away the download. Besides, the digi pack is a real nice 33 sleeve reproduction with decent liner notes-- an asset to anyone's collection.

thankfully, someone in Germany likes power rock guitar music with spiritual and mystical threads woven throughout. for those that like jimi hendrix, robin trower-this is the cd for you. a bit more polished with the best guitar technical effects of the early 80's,it is a classic of the power rock genre. it took me ten years to find. most poignant is the song, stories of a hero, which is highly applicable to this present day war. equally, the song free is a definitive tale for any real seeker-who has really wondered what free means and it's reality in the here and now. this cd has a timeless quality and is a transcendental listening gem for guitar hero worshipers like me. music like this is not made anymore my lovelys. so,memento mori,a carpe diem and rock til you drop. peace

I’m really glad I bought the album. Strange Dreams was a big hit in 1981 and I always wanted a copy.
The whole album is great. Worth buying if you like Frank Moreno.

This is an exellent hard rock or metal album, which is not always easy to find. For me, the best album by the great guitarist Frank Marino, and definitely one of the best albums in its own genre ever. A real rock classic, but not so well known as it should be.

I couldn't find this on iTunes or Apple Music and decided to purchase here - bought the album years' ago, but don't currently have a turntable. Never understood why this album doesn't receive the airplay it deserves on FM radio - it's a classic.
