I'm a product of the 60s and my first love will always be folk rock music. However, every once in a while I get nostalgic for the wonderful big band sounds of my parents' generation. If you only had one boxed set of songs from that era, this is the one you want. I love every one of 75 songs. So glad I made this purchase. Every time I play one of the discs, it takes me back to time when life was simpler, more innocent, and the nation was united against our foes in World War II.

The music is FIVE STAR. The arrangement is a little disappointing.

For example, the famous lyrics for Moon Light Cocktail and others were left out. Other lyrics to less know music are on the recording .

The great WW II Military march music is nearly left out. .(View the movie, "Glen Miller Story," and you will see what uplifting music they left off)

Otherwise, it is good to hear big band music on recordings like this. A welcome relief from the tuneless music that we hear on nearly all radio stations these days. So roll back the rug and enjoy some music where a couple can actually dances together to some snuggling dances music .
