First, this arrived earlier than promised. Second, this was the best packaging I have ever seen for a single CD. This company is obviously really concerned that their Customers receive the the item shipped without any flaws. As for the CD itself, this is the best sounding version of the Album Desperado I have ever heard. The clarity is incredible. You can hear the individual instruments and voices like their stranding in front of you. Yet the sound still maintains the integrity of the the original mix.

I only buy CDs for music I like, so of course I like the music itself. The Eagles got better with almost every CD.

I can't remember the last time I got a CD from Amazon that didn't have either the case busted or the teeth on the center wheel that hold the CD in place have broken and fallen out.

I am reminded why I buy fewer CDs than ever from them. I'm guessing the package just gets literally 'dropped' at the base of the door?

This review is for the quality of vinyl pressing, not for the album itself. The record that I got is quiet, heavy and has
excellent sound. This is one of the quietest record that I have. Generally, the Eagles record sound excellent. I have both greatest hits, Hotel California, On the Border, Desperado and Hell Freezes Over. They all sounds wonderful. However, this is the second Desperado that I got from Amazon. The first one clicked and crackled as soon as the first song was playing. Luckily, I made the right decision to request for a replacement and Amazon has been very generous about it. So, if you like the Eagles, I would highly recommend the album. Greatest hits is great, but listening to a whole album gives a better representation of the band in general. This one is no exception.

i was working as a dj when this lp was released. a friend bought it and brought it to the station. i auditioned some of it and was just blown away. i had enjoyed the eagles early singles but the album wasn't that hot--actually i bought it and sold it to another guy. "desperado" was a whole other level of writing words and music plus it made a great "theme" album.

asylum records hated the thing. "tequila sunrise" was released as a single and didn't do much--sad because it's a great song. the album was mostly treated as a bust by am radio which ruled then. as for me i bought it and wore out a few copies. was thinking about it the other night and could not find my copy so ordered this one. this is a 40 year old cd friends--and it still sounds great. think any of this crap on the radio now will be getting listening time and considered "great" 40 years later--yeah, justin you just count on that for your retirement income.

you want great words--"she passes her time at another man's side and i pass the time with my pride". i get that and if you're anywhere near my age so do you.

Ich war und bin eigentlich hauptsächlich Fan der härteren Rockmusik bis hin zum Death und Trashmetal. Aber die Eagles gehörten untypischerweise ebenfalls schon immer zu meinen Favoriten. Warum? Weil Ihre Musik einfach nur schön ist. Und schön darf auch mal sein! Ein "nicht so gutes" Album gibt es nicht von diesen Perfektionisten! Desperado ist da keine Ausnahme. Erzählt wird die Geschichte(n) von Außenseitern (des wilden Westens). Dementsprechend ist es noch eher Countryrock als sanfter Rock. Ich empfinde es als sehr ursprünglich. Diese Ursprünglichkeit wandelte sich in den Folgejahren immer mehr in das, was in Hotel California seine Vollendung fand. Desperado mit seinen schönen Balladen Dolin-Dalten, Tequila Sunrise und vor allem dem Titelsong sowie den rockigeren Outlaw Man und Out Of Control u.a. Sprechen mich mehr an, als das Schlussalbum The Long Run und auch mehr als Hotel California, obwohl dieses alleine schon wegen dem Titelsong in keiner Sammlung fehlen darf. Desperado bleibt zusammen mit dem rockigeren On The Border mein Geheimtipp!
