Poor old Buddy

This album is a compilation of tracks Buddy Holly recorded for Decca in 1956, before he became famous. After three singles failed to dent the charts, Decca shelved the remaining tracks.

I love most of this album - it's not the Buddy that charted but it is fine and limber rockabilly '56 style. Not as forward and raucous as the Blue Caps or Johnny Burnette... not wild like Charlie Feathers... but charming swinging rockabilly recorded in Nashville... what's not to like?
