“Challengers” Lands in Theaters

Luca Guadagnino’s latest film lands in theaters April 26 after being delayed from a fall release due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes. The film stars Zendaya, Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist in a high-voltage, sexy love triangle film set in the world of competitive tennis. The costumes are by Jonathan Anderson, giving fashion fans something additionally to look forward to.

Sufjan Stevens and Justin Peck’s “Illinoise” Arrives on Broadway

Sufjan Stevens and Justin Peck — say no more. “Illinoise,” a dance-forward musical based on Stevens’ 2005 concept album of the same name and premiered at Bard College last summer before transferring to the Park Avenue Armory earlier this year. Starting April 24, the lauded show will begin its third leg, a 16-week run on Broadway at the St. James Theatre. The show is directed and choreographed by Justin Peck, who cowrote the book with Pulitzer winner Jackie Sibblies Drury.

WNBA Draft

Women’s basketball has arguably never been bigger, and on the heels of the NCAA Final Four we’ll be treated to even more Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and others. The WNBA Draft is coming to New York on April 15, held at BAM, as the excitement around women’s basketball grows.

Yto Barrada’s Courtyard Sculptures at MoMA PS1

Warmer weather in New York always feels like an invitation to seek out the city’s public art landscape. “Yto Barrada: Le Grand Soir” will debut in the MoMA PS1 courtyard on April 25. The two-year commission marks the French-Moroccan artist’s first major outdoor exhibition, featuring colorful stacked concrete blocks. The sculptures will become an immersive experience — and take on new functionality as seating, etc — during the museum’s popular outdoor summer music series Warm Up.


Visiting The Henson, a New Boutique Inn in the Catskills + Onsite Restaurant from Contra Team

The team behind the Hunter Houses, a collection of boutique rental houses upstate, are opening their first inn. Following a two-year renovation, the 16-room The Henson will open its doors to guests this spring. The property is in Hensonville, located between Hunter Mountain and Windham Mountain, in an area of the Catskills that has seen a surge of new elevated hospitality offerings in recent years. The Henson will also feature onsite restaurant Matilda, from the culinary team behind acclaimed restaurants Contra and Wildair team. The opening is currently slated for late April.
