  69. Em Fan says:

    TES
    Recovery
    MMLP

If you back to the mmlp a lot of songs were filler like drug ballad, this album is really similar to the Eminem show and almost sounds like a continuation of it. The only bad thing about this album is that Mr. Porter only got 1 song and it’s the worst song, I’m sure there was another Just Blaze or Khalil track left off that could have been subbed in for on fire

  80. Bill Clinton says:

    This album is fucking amazing.
Honestly, if you don’t think this is good then you’re either stupid or deaf.

  81. Da Business says:

Not tryin’ to sound like a Stan, but this lp is dope as fuck!!! It’s too early to call it a classic, but it’s definitely the best lp to come out thus far this yr(tho, that’s not sayin’ much).

WELCOME BACK EM, u earned my $10 fo’ real. I hope u do a show in Florida also.

  82. whoaaa says:

this was an experimental album as far as features and producers……he definitely got his shit back together….. crazy album

On the next album he’s gonna balance his tracks probably……some more DRE….some other producers….and also produce some of the tracks himself….

THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING…MORE TO COME (HOPEFULLY)

“”dropping each march with a brand new cd for these fucking retards””

  83. Da Business says:

    @ iHATEhaters

Co-sign w/ ur statement, but I’ll put TES above all and Encore @ the bottom.

    *that’s just me*

  84. Scott says:

Recovery is great is so many ways. Who cares if it’s ‘classic’ or how it compares to his other albums? That’s so overrated and always remains subjective. There’s absolutely no doubt at all that it’s one of the best hip-hop albums in many years. Haters must really have a lot of time to kill. Some of yall should really spend more time listening, and less time postin belligerent boo boo. Are you really thinking you’re going to change peoples minds? lol. You either straight hate for whatever reason, or your deaf. Those are the only two possible explanantions if you think this record is wack.

Signed: 35 year old white guy aka “Stan”. Get some new insults to HaterZ. Stan is so *yawn*

  85. Da Business says:

track 17 is called “here we go”

  89. slimshady says:

THIS ALBUM IS NOT BETTER THAN EMINEM SHOW, GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK, TES IS A CLASSIC. THIS ISN’T. THE ALBUM AT BEST IS GOOD, NOT GREAT. 80% OF THE BEATS SOUND THE EXACT SAME. HIS FLOW WAS ON POINT SO THAT SAVED IT FROM BEING A COMPLETE DISASTER.

  90. Eminem hater just cuz says:

I hate eminem cuz he is better than my favorite rapper and he sells so many records O n he is white plus his lyrics are much for me

  91. mikee says:

glad em steppped outside the box…great album!

def thought 25 to life was a jim jonsin joint

  92. SUPER STAN says:

@ Poindexter; if you honestly believe that Relapse and Encore were better than this, you should go and play in traffic. How old are you? 8? Stop trying to piss everyone off because you look like a fool doing so.

  93. Ac@pella! says:

Soooooo, Just Blaze only produced like 2 cuts, or at least put only 2 joints they worked on??? That’s the only reason I got excited 4 Recovery, because Em said Just was producing most of it…smh…

  94. Brad gearing says:

  101. real deal says:

Lol this album is better than anything out, but of course u kids only understand basic metaphors and want club bangers…I’m sorry eminem isn’t flo rida or gucci mane, or doesn’t have catchy ass songs…damn hip hop isn’t dead, it just grew up and had a kid named kids bop that all u ppl dick ride…and ohh as far as best to worst album, its marshall mathers lp, slim shady lp, eminem show, infinite, recovery, relapse ( very creative, although not consistent and accents were overdone) and then encore

so next time you blow up
    try to spit a flow
    you wanna critisize dawg
    try a little more

    fire in the hole!!!

WTF????? when i first heard that song i got goosebumps like”Holy fuck did he just say that?”
P.S- it sounds way better when you hear him say it

  107. r says:

stop puttin his previous albums in order from best to worst with this new one. think about each album in order in which they came out. this recovery album represents where he ended up from the start of his fame until now. i believe this will be considered a classic when its all said an done just for the simple fact on how he made all of his albums come together full circle with recovery. good hiphop album. june 22 buy it if you enjoy hiphop music. otherwise, if you still arent likin Em after this one jus do us all a favor and stop listenin to him so that we wont have to stain our minds with your pointless shots you take in your blog.

  108. NotoriousRambo says:

RECOVERY IS A GOOD ALBUM LYRICALLY ITS UP TO PAR BUT ITS NOT A GREAT ALBUM AND PRODUCTION WISE ITS SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT AFTER ALL THE TALK ABOUT JUST BLAZE AND OTHER’S OVER THE PAST 5 MONTHS PRODUCING AN SHIT FOR IT I WAS EXPECTING SOME GREAT BANGERS BUT I DIDN’T HEAR ANY OF THAT. THE WAY THIS ALBUM SOUNDED AND THE TONE OF THE SONGS IT SEEMS LIKE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A PREQUEL TO RELAPSE CAUSE I WAS EXPECTING SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT BUT IM STILL GONNA PLAY IT NEVERTHELESS I LOVE THE INTRICATE WORDPLAY I GREW UP IN THE 90’S WHERE LYRICS ACTUALLY MATTERED UNLIKE TODAY. IM HOPING THAT THIS ISN’T A SIGN OF WHATS TO COME LATER THIS YEAR ON DETOX I NEED SOMETHING TO BLAST ON THE BLOCK

  109. mmkayy says:

Jim Jonsim did his thing.. imma Blaze fan but was kinda disapointed

    @ Notorious, Co-Sign.

  111. GBO says:

DJ Khalil is a monster man.. Just blaze disapointed a bit.. and that havoc beat.. hotdamn.. that was fiya!! Eminem killed it!! he killed the whole album.. on first listn i was quite stunned by every song cos it wasnt what i expected, (in a good way) bt on 2nd listn i got everything and it made the album soo much beta!! Hot album, i give it up to the greatest!!

  112. GBO says:

June 22nd im buying 2 copies!! Was dispaointed wit the quality.. dre should have mastered the album anyway.. ill see hw the actual cd sounds!!

  113. MisterRob1n says:

  118. SUPER STAN says:

Yo to me Blaze was dope as fuck. That “What is Love” sample was soooo unexpected. Damn, i love that shit. Cold Wind Blows was hot too.

As a side note, On Fire – reminds me of Role Model

And Cinderella Man = AMAZING, a 5000x times better version of Rain Man

    Seduction is my favorite

25 to Life has the hottest beat / he flipped the script on this one, thought he was talking about Kim and instead its about Hip-Hop which he’s the King of

So Bad is similar to Business

Going Through Changes has an amazing sample, similar to Sing for the Moment

Won’t Back Down is the non-horror rap of 3 AM, its actually not bad but one of the inferior tracks here

Talkin 2 Myself – has the hottest hook

  119. Jader says:

This is a very different album from his other works. Relapse was very smilar to slim shady lp. Encore marshall mathers lp and eminem show are all different from each other so is recovery. Good lyrical album kinda like the eminem show mixed in with some relapse. Really feeling every song except for on fire and w.t.p.
    1. Eminem show

Recovery is gonna win awards for this and love the way u lie and talkin to myself are gonna be hits.

  120. DETOX2010 says:

    @Jader

finally a list that i can cosign…. thank you!!!

Signed: 23 yr. old white boy aka 80s baby aka closet stan

  121. DETOX2010 says:

Although i’d love to see EM perform ALMOST FAMOUS live in front of a bunch of other rappers… not necessarily the GRAMMIES (which is where i bet he’ll be asked to perform LOVE the WAY YOU LIE ft. RHIANNA bc it reminds me of when he performed stan with elton john) but i think it’d be cool if he performed almost famous at the bet awards or mtv music awards bc hes basically welcoming all challengers and id love to see the faces on the rest of the hip hop industry when he performs that song live.

  122. bowaleed says:

this album is missing Dr.dre’s taste 🙁

  123. sj says:

lyrically dope, falling asleep on the beats though, just one from dre? it’s time to detox now

  124. Midnite! says:

Lmao @ Justin PoindexterYa buggin hater!!!Go cop Drakes R&B bullshit then!GTFOH.Ifa anybody sounds the same on every track it’s that bitch!Em=G.O.A.T!!Took off years and comes back and roasts the game!Keep hating while he stays on top DICK RIDER!!!

  125. Barzini Meeting says:

^Agree to an extent. I’m not sure if it’s his WORST album, but its DEFINATELY not a classic. Its FAR from a CLASSIC album. I hate how people just throw the word classic around so loosely here. Anyway, thats not to say its not decent. It’s incredibly redundant like u said. Songs just sloppily run together all too often. It almost seems like he tried to pull off some “when disaster strikes” type transitions and just failed miserably. Yes, busta did those transitions, but it was FAAAR from redundant or boring. It was f***G genius when he did it! lol. (reminds himself to put when disaster strikes back on ipod).

heres where the stans go crazy and the REAL hiphop heads agree:

Yes eminem is a great rapper. yes hes nice lyrically, yada yada yada. But ALOOOT of his metaphors just come off as corny and cheap on this album. got a TON of example for those that wanna whine like b***es about it too.

  126. Barzini Meeting says:

damn yall comment fast? lol. guess i just typed too much. anyway, i wasnt agreeing with midnite oh well.

Dope album, some of these beats are better then most of the beats Em ever has. People saying all the beats sound the same, hoenstly so does SSLP beats..and those beats sound like MMLP beats, and thats cuz Dre produced about all of them. This album has a mixture of producers, yet they all sound the same??? Dont get it.

    @Ac@pella
    Just Blaze had 3 tracks. 1, 9, and 16

Not disappointed with this album…disappointed would be him rapping in an accent, and rapping about being a serial killer 24/7. As long as it doesnt sound like Encore and Relapse, I couldnt be disappointed with this album. And its better then SSLP IMO.

Out of the 17 tracks, im sold on about 16/17 (Wont back down being the black sheep)

With this, Thank Me Later and Trap or Die 2, im completely stuffed on music for the next couple months. At least until King Uncaged comes out.

  135. duo says:

Ok ok… Not a classic, nah we can’t say that yet, need some more years to see if this will be a classic. But it’s definitely better than Encore, Relapse and Infinite. If you wanna compare this to his 3 classics, SSLP comes to mind, the beats remind me of TES though.

The production is ok but I gotta love the diversity on this, increases the replay value which is good. That’s the difference between this and Relapse, Relapse was like 1 spin front to back and then ok, lets do something else. Recovery is a spin front to back then I go like hum, that was interesting, lets spin that again. I ain’t hating on Relapse like everyone else, nah I think it was a solid album but replay value was zero and thus it lost my interest.

Somehow I think the numbers on this one will determine the albums status in the industry, remember when Relapse leaked everyone was like “yeah thats classic shit” then when it didn’t do a milli everyone was like “nahhh this shit weak” … Sad tbh but first week numbers are all that matter nowadays it seems…

I’m satisfied with it, don’t know if he finished with rap and if this his final album, anyways it’s a good final album imo.

I almost came unglued when I finished listening to this Album!! I picked my jaw up off the floor, and had to text my friend and admit he was right, I was sooooo so so stupid for worrying that it wouldn’t live up!! OMG! Dude He busts out like he’s on a murdering spree, freaking KILLING every single trax, raping it, then killing it again!! 4 real! .. I was like totally selling my self short by hoping for some “old slim shady”! Cuz he delivered them ALL with the kinda of depth, I’ve only heard moments of before! I think this is the first album where we get a whole person, like all 3, Em, old Shady, and Marshall, and in the raw! I’m not gonna lie either, I don’t give shyt what anyone thinks, This album is Definitely Better than TES! And allot of these trax can either take out or go toe to toe with traxs on MMLP and SSLP! The tracks on MMLP and SSLP seem alittle immature now… Hes just so focused, quick, raw, real, and deep, that its palpable. I feel like if past Shady, and current Shady were in a room alone together, this Shady is so quick, and seriously passionate, that before immature Shady is even able to light up and think about what he’s gonna do, this Shady would be well into slaughtering his ass! I’m thinking the only previous album that can compete with this one is Infinite, and maybe Mocking Bird, Kim, Bonnie & Clyde, Cleaning Out my Closet, & Lose Yourself. …He’s never put out an album that I haven’t been able to pick out at least 3 favs. I can’t do it on this one, cause are too many to love for different reasons, it hard to rank them!! It’s so so good!!.. And I’m SO glad I can totally say that shyt with confidence, and freekin shoot down anyone who says it sucks, or that I’m exaggerating!! It WILL DEF. win the Grammy for Best Album! oh yeah its that dayum good! ….haha! …I wanna murder the b–ch that leaked this album, and thank him at the same time! … haha!… But Mostly tho, I’m SO seriously freekin proud of Slim for droppin this bomb on hip hop!!! I think he’s def. gonna make allot of these new Artists step up their game, and become better Rap artists! HAHA!! Shady Records! PROOF!!

Already! ‘Recovery’ is fucking tough. Granted, a couple of the hooks are bad, but the verses more than make up for them… the furious pace at which he spits these complex rhymes is mind boggling to say the least. I’ve never heard anyone spit like this, real talk. It’s fucking insane, we’ve got a new Eminem, one we’ve never heard before. Listen to the second verse of ” You’re Never Over”, that shit is nuts!! Possibly the dopest verse I’ve ever heard because of the difficulty in structure that it was written, and the depth of emotion in it. This shit is solid, except for the horrible ‘W.T.P.’ (White Trash Party).

  142. Lilly Russell says:

Duo I have to disagree, based on the mentality of people like my brother. When the work is this good, you can’t use album sales to determine the quality of the content! Hip Hop hasn’t has an Album with this much heart and soul, this good in years! You can bet this leak will certainly kill those 1st weeks sales, even though everyone is saying this album is stellar work! With the economy in the state that its in and disposable income at such a low point. Allot of people are holding on their cash, just in case they lose their job, or their having to chose, Art & Entertainment or Gas/ Essentials. So getting for free online is a more attractive option. In Addition, there are too many people out there like my brother, who hasn’t paid for an album, since 2005! They think why spend my hard earned dollar, when I can get it for free! Now had it not leaked, you can bet he would be buying it come June 22nd, cause he wouldn’t be able to stand waiting for someone to get it online in CDQ, while everyone else is listening to it! He’s not planning on buying it now, and neither are his friends, even though they’ve been listening to it, and gushing over how dope the lyrics are, for the past 3 days! The thought that they need to support Shady Records & Aftermath so that they can continue to put out great music like this, & support new Artists, doesn’t even occur to them. If Shady Records goes by the way side, so what, the machine will just put out someone else. That’s the Mentality behind piracy… It is possible that if Hip Hop & Em fans go crazy reminding other hip hop fans of why we need to support SR and Aftermath, that being, that we haven’t had an album this good, with this much substance in years, and that we need to help them grow they can continue to put out excellent work like this, as well as sign new Artists, then maybe we can change that!… But idk, I think the economy is key right now, and doesn’t change the fact that this album THE SHYT!

  143. Jermane says:

Haven’t turned on the radio, or listened to anything else for the last 3 days. The only other albums this white boy has made that are great / classics, is the lyrics on Infinite, and the SSLP. Everything else he’s ever done since then with 2 or 3 exceptions, is crap. But agree wit lily. This album changes the game, at least it better change the game, cause its best out in hip hop in the last few years. As for just on his work, this one pisses on MMLP except criminal and kill you, it can go toe to toe wit those two tracks, and definitely pisses on TES, Encore, Relapse except Stay Wide Awake (lyrically), and yeah lily it even pisses on some of the tracks on SSLP. Lyrically, Infinite, SSLP and Recovery might be neck and neck. (and I stress might, cause this may be better I haven’t listen to them in a while) But then add the depth and passion, and the ridiculous flow skills on display, and this album pisses on all his previous work. Honestly.

One thing tho, it does feel like he’s holding something back here tho, I don’t know what it is, but for some reason, it just feels like that. It might be too that what i’m picking up on is that he’s just gettin started again. don’t know, but if he is things just got allot mo interesting…

It’s too early to call it a CLASSIC, time will determine that. But it definitely BANGS HARD, it’s missing Dre tho. Ppl like to hate on Relapse but it was a SOLID lp. Shit, to be honest the production on Relapse IMO is better than Recovery.

Em is snappin’ tho lyrically on this lp, he’s @ his best when he gets personal. The only other emcees who r gr8 @ bearing their souls r 2Pac and DMX.

Eminem Confirms 2nd Disc in Recovery (7/6/10)
    AOL Music News- Fri. June 11th, 2010, 4:30 P.M.
‘As Many Fans may know, rapper Eminem’s long-awaited LP, “Recovery”, leaked this week and it has been receiving very positive reviews from critics and fans alike, but according to Marshall, “these aren’t the only songs to look forward too.” A recent interview today with Marshall gave light to the rumor of a possible “Recovery” Double Album. After giving his thoughts on the positive feedback to “Recovery”, Em stated: “After I decided to scrap the sequel (to Relapse 2), I obviously didn’t completely get rid of the previous tracks I recorded because of the huge effort from a lot of people and, I feel like what’s the point of never releasing work that my fans would appreciate?” Mathers then continued by explaining how fans could get their hands on the previously unreleased songs, “Included in every copy of Recovery purchased in (stores), is a ticket to enter a code on 7/6/10 that will allow the customer to go online on my website to download 14 tracks that were originally meant for Relapse 2 and, there is definitely a lot of anticipated guests and great producers on that album so, I felt like its a good idea to get that out there.” So, it’s now official, “Relapse 2”, the album fans thought would never happen, is going to be available with every purchase of the “Recovery” CD. To wrap up the interview, Em gave us his thoughts on the “Recovery” leak: “I definitely am glad that
(the fans) are gonna be able to get their hands on the songs earlier than excited, because they deserve it after all the twists and turns, but at the same time, I feel like thats not everything, because I got the other (album) dropping along with it, so I guess I’m just neutral and I’m glad a lot of people are enjoying it.” Well, there it is the final plans for the most anticipated Rap album in years and don’t forget to pick up “Recovery” in stores or on iTunes on June 22th.’

  155. Uncle Joe says:

Damn, This album is personal, reflective, witty and strong. IT is way too early to declare this album anything, so all the Eminem hype fans need to relax for a bit. I will say that he switched his rhyming style into a frenetic but controlled manor which is downright impressive considering the stage of the game he’s in. He could have reverted back to the MMLP status with sick shit and people would have been fine with that, but to decide to reinvent yourself and go away from one of the main producers you’ve fucked with your entire mainstream career was a bold and successful move. The only person I dont see who was supposed to have produced a track was Charles Hamilton.

And for those who say Eminem has fallen off, re listen a few more times, as there are at least 2-3 bars per song that will go over your head, guaranteed. Em used to be replayable because his rhymes were so clever/gross/complex/funny/great, but he’s never been this thought provoking and clever in his lyricism. The Mike Vick opening rhymes blew my mind, and Im sure for those who heard Despicable, there are 2-3 things that went over your dome, regardless of how many times you listened to it.

While it may not be as groundbreaking and powerful as the MMLP, as personal as the ES, this album is great on it’s own accord, and signaled that Eminem is indeed back.
