"It's in the Way That You Use It" is a song written by English rock musician Eric Clapton in collaboration with guitarist and songwriter Robbie Robertson. The song was released on Warner Bros. Records as the second single from Clapton's 1986 studio album August. It was produced and mixed by Clapton and Tom Dowd, who acted as assistant producer. The song was also used as the theme song for Martin Scorsese's film The Color of Money and sold over 500,000 copies.
