Part-Time Lover by Stevie Wonder

Stevie Wonder is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer who has been a prominent figure in popular music for over five decades.

He began his career as a child prodigy in the early 1960s, signed to Motown Records at the age of 11, and released his first hit single, “Fingertips (Part 2),” in 1963. Over the course of his career, he has released more than 30 studio albums and has won 25 Grammy Awards.

“Part-Time Lover” is a song by Stevie Wonder, released in 1985 as the lead single from his album “In Square Circle”. The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.

The lyrics of the song talk about a man who is having an affair with a woman who is only available to him on a part-time basis, hence the name of the song.

He’s in love with this woman and enjoys the times they spend together but he knows the relationship is not healthy or sustainable. He’s asking her to be his full-time lover, but she’s not ready or willing to commit.
