BALLIN’!

This GIF poem derives from a lyric poem of a song called We Fly High by Jim Jones. Lyric poems express emotions in a rhythmic way and most songs follow this type of poetry. I chose this lyric poem because of the simple rhythm scheme that is very easy to follow along to. Because of this, I put my GIFs in a specific order where you can easily understand what is being conveyed and said in the song lyrics.

Lyric Breakdown

“We fly high”

I used a man flying and I made the next GIF of the alien and the psychedelic background.

I felt that the alien looks high and the background is very hallucinatory because of the colors changing and the hypnotic movement of it. I made it so that it interprets the word “high”.

“No lie”

I have chosen a character off of the show The Office saying “No”.

For the word lie, I chose Pinocchio because he lies and his nose comes out when he does.

“You know this(ballin!)”

I made the 5th GIF for the word “you”. I got a clip from a popular song called Crank That by Soulja Boy where he specifically screams the word “youuuu”. The other GIFs are self-explanatory.

“Foreign rides outside, it’s like showbiz”

I used a foreign car such as the Lamborghini to express “foreign rides”.

I used the Catch Me Outside girl from the Dr. Phil show to relate to the word “outside”.

For the word “showbiz”, I used a GIF of Beyonce performing at a concert which is a type of show business.
