FOUR-SCREENSHOT COLLAGE
The following ESL lesson plan was designed around the short-film Lifted by Pixar. The plot is centred around a hilarious and unsuccessful abduction attempt performed by two green, slimy aliens.
TEACHING STEPS:
Divide the class in pairs
Give the learners a copy of the worksheet with the collage and tell them they all came from a short-film
Their task is to create a story in 20 minutes using the images from the collage and the Linking words from the worksheet. Walk around providing help necessary,
Each group should share their story with the rest of the class. Correct pronunciation when necessary.
Show the short-film and ask students to put the pictures in the correct order.
Ask them to compare and contrast their story to the real movie.
Hold a discussion based on the questions provided in the worksheet.
HOMEWORK:
Students choose a short-film of their liking,
Select 4 screenshots
Show their screenshots to the class
The other learners put the pictures in order and create an interesting narrative
