UNDATED (WKRC) - Drumsticks have gone viral after TikTokers made videos trying to melt them.

Some videos have garnered millions of views and has many people asking: "Why is my Drumstick taking so long to melt?"

Drumstick's official TikTok account got in on the action and posted their own video of a woman attempting to melt the dessert with a blowtorch after becoming impatient.

On April 13, a makeup artist and biomedical engineer uploaded a video explaining why Drumsticks take so long to melt.

“I’m on the side of TikTok where people are speculating why Drumsticks do not melt. And as a biomedical engineer with a concentration in materials, I want to explain why," the TikToker said in the video.

The TikToker, Savannah, said the difference lied in the way "the Drumstick is formulated versus regular ice cream."

According to Food & Wine, Drumsticks aren't made with ice cream and instead use "frozen dairy dessert," which uses different ingredients.

"Most simply put, ice cream is made of milk solids or fats, whereas frozen desserts use vegetable oil, or Vanaspati," Argo and Food Processing explained.

The engineer explained that other frozen desserts, like Drumsticks, also use an ingredient called an emulsifier, which helps keep the desserts' structural integrity.

In closing, TikToker pushed back claims that have spread online regarding alleged adverse health effects that could stem from emulsifiers, going on to note that tapioca starch, a natural emulsifier, is used to make boba pearls.
