Koehler Lloyd Steve returns to Milwaukee Rep as Lloyd--a role he has performed with his buddy Doug over 1000 times all over the Midwest since 2003 including for Wisconsin Public Television. Other stage credits include; The Bridges of Madison County (Robert Kincaid) with Peninsula Players; To Kill a Mockingbird (Atticus) with Children’s Theater of Madison; The Sound of Music (Georg Von Trapp) with Skylight Music Theatre; and Guys and Does (Joe-Jimmy/Stagheart) with Northern Sky. When not performing, Steve teaches physics and theatre at Pathways High in Milwaukee. He and his wife Julie-Honey have been blessed with two boys: Alexander Steven—a geological engineer in Albuquerque, NM; and Austin Max who works for ETC (Electronic Theatre Controls) in Middleton WI.
Doug Mancheski Marvin Doug is delighted to return to the Stackner Cabaret for this run of Guys on Ice. It was back in the 1998/99 Rep season, that Guys on Ice premiered at the Stackner Cabaret. He co-starred then with Fred Alley, the book and lyric writer for the show. He has performed with most of the professional theaters in Wisconsin, including Northern Sky Theatre, a theater he has been with for several years. Favorite shows there include Lumberjacks in Love, The Bachelors, Loose Lips Sink Ships, Dad’s Season Tickets, and many others. He just completed a run as McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest at Rogue Theater in Door County. He is featured in the film Hundreds of Beavers, to be released theatrically in 2024. He graduated from New York University’s MFA program for actors at Tisch School of the Arts. Jeffrey Herbst Director/Choreographer Jeff has been artistic director for Northern Sky since 1993. At Milwaukee Rep, he appeared in Shine On Harvest Moon and A Woman in Mind. He went on to direct Goodnight Irene in 1997, which was followed by the original production of Guys on Ice, Old Friends, The One that Got Away, and Lumberjacks in Love. His work at Northern Sky has resulted in over eighty world premiere productions. He and Fred Alley were honored in 2017 with the Distinguished Alumni Award from their alma mater Mt. Horeb High School for their work in creating original musical theater.

Music Director: Guys and Does AND Guys on Ice at Northern Sky. Teaching artist: adjunct faculty member UW Parkside, Milwaukee Ballet, Virginia State Thespian Conference, Minnesota Conservatory Summer Dance Intensive, First Stage, Danceworks, UW Milwaukee, and many high schools. Ryan will be choreographing his final musical, Hello Dolly! for Forte Theatre this spring. Proud dog dad of Dolly, the black mouth cur. James Maronek Scenic Designer Jim Maronek has designed scenery for many Northern Sky productions, as well as their permanent outdoor and indoor stages. He has also designed numerous sets for the Peninsula Players, consulted on the replacement of their theatre, and is on their Board of Directors. Otherwise, he operates his fine art gallery at Silver Poplar Studios in Ellison Bay together with cottage rentals on the Old Russian estate and gardens. His credits, including many for Goodman Theatre in Chicago, number well over 250 designs, across the USA and internationally. He is Professor Emeritus of The Theatre School of DePaul University. Jason Fassl Lighting Designer Jason has designed lighting for over 30 Milwaukee Rep productions including Seven Guitars, Titanic, Hedwig and The Angry Inch, and most recently Run Bambi Run. This is at least the 6th time Jason has designed the lighting for Guys on Ice for Milwaukee Rep. Over the two decades, Mr. Fassl has consumed mass quantities of electricity at Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Milwaukee Ballet, American Players Theatre, First Stage Children’s Theatre, Peninsula Players, 10

Jonathan Hetler Casting Jonathan Hetler is a producer, director, and teaching artist based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He currently serves as the Artistic Producer overseeing all casting and special events at Milwaukee Rep. Notable directing highlights include Dino! An Evening with Dean Martin (Milwaukee Rep), The Servant of Two Masters (Marquette University), Romeo and Juliet, Venus in Fur, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, and Glengarry Glen Ross (Ohio University), Pippin (Ohio Valley Summer Theater), the world premiere of La Mujer Barbuda (Seabury Quinn Jr. Playwrights’ Festival), and the Associate Director for Titanic the Musical and the annual production of A Christmas Carol (Milwaukee Rep). He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Directing from Ohio University and a Master of Business Administration from Regent University. @hetlerj/ hetlerj.com Emily Wright Stage Manager Emily is thrilled to return to Milwaukee Repertory Theater for this production of Guys on Ice. (Milwaukee Chamber Theatre); Noises Off (Skylight Music Theatre) and Nunsense (Milwaukee Repertory Theater). She has also worked at Cleveland Public Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, and First Stage Children’s Theatre. Born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, she is a graduate of Denison University and a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association.

Mark Clements Artistic Director Mark is an award-winning international theater director whose work has appeared in over 100 major theaters throughout Europe and the United States. He began his tenure as Artistic Director with the 2010/11 Season by bringing musicals to the mainstage, starting a tradition that is now the highlight of every season. Mark has directed over 30 productions at Milwaukee Rep including World and American Premieres, his own adaptation of the current A Christmas Carol and all but one mainstage musical including Titanic the Musical, West Side Story and Dreamgirls. Prior to joining Milwaukee Rep, Mark served as an Associate Artistic Director for several UK theater companies, most notably, Artistic Director for the award-winning Derby Playhouse in the UK where he directed over 40 productions. He has been nominated for an Olivier Award and several UK Theatre Awards, and has won three Barrymore Awards in Philadelphia. He created and directed the West End and UK National Tour of Soul Train. Mark is currently working with Ayad Akhtar on adapting his critically acclaimed novel American Dervish for the stage to make its World Premiere in an upcoming season.
Chad Bauman Executive Director Now in his eleventh season at Milwaukee Rep, under Chad’s guidance the theater has grown significantly from a $9M to $14M+ organization. He’s completed two capital campaigns to remodel the Stackner Cabaret, build the endowment, launch the John D. Lewis New Play Development Program, create a new A Christmas Carol and deepen the theater’s community engagement programs. He is currently stewarding the $78M campaign to build the new Associated Bank Theater Center. Previously he was the Associate Executive Director at Arena Stage in Washington, DC, where he was instrumental in opening the Mead Center for American Theater, a new 200,000 square feet performing arts complex. While at Arena, he worked on the Broadway transfers of Next to Normal (Pulitzer Prize; Tony Award), Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Tony Award), and Wishful Drinking starring Carrie Fisher. Bauman is a graduate of Harvard Business School with a Master of Fine Arts in producing from the CalArts.
