      Description
      Slender herbs, 13-25 cm tall, in dark shady places; rhizome swollen at nodes with thick roots. Leaves 3, rarely 4, 3-5 x 1.2-2 cm, ovate, base sheathing, apex acute, membranous with whitish midrib, pinkish on drying, crowded at the base of the inflorescence. Raceme terminal, 12-20 cm long, villous; scape with 1-3 sterile bracts. Flowers white, 1-1.5 cm long; bracts c. 8 x 4 mm, broadly lanceolate, acuminate. Dorsal sepal c. 7 x 3 mm, ovate-oblong, obtuse, connate with lateral petals to form a hood; lateral sepals 6-7 x c. 3 mm, ovate-subfalcate, obtuse, free, villous without. Lateral petals 7-8 x 2-2.5 mm, falcate, obtuse, connate at base, deeply cleft, 2-horned within the sac. Fruit dark green.
